Host Groundbreaking for $2.5 Million Expansion 46,000 sq ft Facility Scheduled to Open October 2010 LAKE MILLS, WI – Jim Brey, Owner of Aztalan Engineering, Inc. was joined by Steve Wilke, Lake Mills City Manager, State Representative Andy Jorgensen (D-Fort Atkinson) and State Representative Peter Barca (D-Kenosha) at a groundbreaking ceremony for the company’s $2.5 million dollar expansion. The expansion offers the opportunity for Aztalan Engineering, Inc. to double its capacity and output as well as adding additional jobs in the Lake Mills community. At this time the expansion is slated for completion in October 2010. “In the face of the greatest economic crisis since the great depression, we as a state must continue to reward those who are creating and maintaining jobs,” Jorgensen said. “As a State Representative, I have been proud to work with Jim and the folks at Aztalan Engineering and I commend their hard work and dedication to providing good paying, family supporting jobs.” Also on hand was Representative Peter Barca for the ceremony. Rep. Adds New Swiss Turn Capability (Lake Mills, WI) Aztalan Engineering announced the addition of a new Tsugami BW12 – a 12mm capacity Swiss turn machine. "Despite the difficult economy," explained Jim Brey, Aztalan founder and president, "we are continuing to acquire the most technologically advanced software and equipment as part of an overall corporate strategy to become the region's most sophisticated precision parts engineering and manufacturing firm." The new Tsugami BW12 has three independently programmable gang tool slides, simultaneous operation of the main and sub spindles, 21 tool stations, full C-axis on the main & sub spindles. The main spindle can operate with either fixed or rotary bushing. The machine is designed to make small complex parts.
