OUR STORY
Our company's foundation lies in its leadership and passion. Our founder, Jim Brey, started his venture in leadership by enlisting in the Army infantry after graduating from high school. Jim served as a mortar observer and earned the rank of Staff Sergeant in one year. He served in the Korean War, earning a field commission to Second Lieutenant and returned stateside to find a new passion, aviation. Jim would finish the remainder of his military career as a pilot of both fixed-wing planes and helicopters, and retired as a Major.
Jim graduated from the University of Wisconsin and spent 19 years as a mechanical engineer with McDonnell-Douglas, AC Delco, and Hamlin Electronics. Jim had a dream to own his own company and in July 1978 Aztalan Engineering was incorporated as an engineering and manufacturing company. Our company started operations in the Breys' two-car garage with a couple of part-time employees, a few Bridgeports and a Macintosh computer. In 1988, Aztalan Engineering moved to a new 30,000 square foot facility in the Lake Mills Business Park.
We have assembled a talented staff of machinists. Our dynamic management team is always trying to improve our company. When you join us as a customer or supplier, you truly become part of our family. You will notice the difference from the time of your first inquiry and through the life of our relationship.
